Heey people,
WEll, after ten days on the pearlsboot I'm broken. But at least not broke. That's a big differents.
I'll tell you how the day is on the pearl boot.
first imagine you're lying in a bed which is about 10 cm bigger then you. Your personal space is about zero. Then somebody shouts "GET UP TIME TO WORK!" you look at your phone. Yup 6 o clock in the morning.
Hmm... breakfast isn't served untill 6:30 so I just stay in bed a little while. (getting up early is not my strongest point) first mistake. As soon as he shouts you're suposed to get up and show your face around. Get ready. show your face on deck. Result: I'm watching the sunset every morning. Which actually is a great start of the day.
6:45. Work starts. I either you scrape the shells and other shit of the panels. Which is the most itchy work in the world and you need to be covered at least your feet. (only thing i had were leaking shoes.) ITCHY!
Or you sort the shells. Shich means get all the dirty stuff of them and clean them and... get itchy. and dirty and... well. Actually it looks as the worst job but it's the best. you don't get that itchy you don't get a back that's killing you and you don't get that bored.
because the last option is put the shells in their tray. Which results in making the same movements for 7 a 8 hour a day. That sucks. It's fun in the beginning. You think this isn't hard. And it's not. Not the first day. But well...
Halfway during the trip a new guy came. He was the fastest at the moment and happy and was like. "is this all?" and then he said. "what are we doing tomorrow?"
well. This. we have done this for 5 days now. and we will do it for another five days. Dat was kind of funny .
Allright work was. hard. But... Food was great and free> we had the best chef on board. Accomadation was free. ANd after a long day work we jumped of the roof in the ocean. (and swom out quickly because the day before a guy on the boot had catched a shark.) Had some beers (at least the other guys had. I didn't bring beers) Watched lost. (It's great I never watched this in holland I won't get bored now) ANd just sat outside watch the sunset.
So work was hard. But in the end the itchyness disapears and all what you got left is the experience of going to this beuatifull place go to an beach nobody is alloud to go. (only if you're there to collect trash from you're boot. So we brought us some trash to the island to collect.) And in the end?
I got no fingernails left. No nice clothes. But a great experience a hell of a headache and a shitload of money.
Going again the 21. Mixed feelings about it... But... yeah. well. Rich aye?

Werken is natuurlijk vermoeiend, maar heeft ook altijd wel leuke kanten.
Weer een bijzondere ervaring. Misschien nuttig als je straks een bijbaantje zoekt bij een juwelier. Breng je je ervaring als "parelvisser" in.
Hoop dat je ook wat foto's hebt gemaakt of kan regelen.

Nou, wel weer een mooie toevoeging op je C.V. en wat een ervaringen allemaal. Begrijp ik goed, dat je het toch nog een keer 10 dagen gaat doen ? Neem dan maar een paar biertjes mee voor na het zwemmen. Geniet van de zonsopgang en -ondergang (geen regen trouwens ? Hoop je gauw weer te zien.

Wij wensen je in ieder geval nog een mooie boot-trip volgende week. En heb je al plannen wat je met je dubbele shitload of money? We beginnen in ieder geval steeds nieuwsgieriger te worden naar alle foto's. Zou een weekend genoeg zijn of moeten we daar een week voor uittrekken :)
In ieder geval tot schrijfs en ik zie je vast voor je gaat studeren.

Hey meissie,
Ik was wel verschrikkelijk blij vanmiddag om je stem weer te horen. Weer heelhuids op de wal, weliswaar met gehavende handen, bekaf en met zeebenen.
En je klonk ook weer helemaal blij, zo fijn om te horen. Je dippie weer voorbij, goed hoor.
En dan maandag wéér met de boat (Daphne, niet boot, dat is een laars :)) erop uit. Weer een radiostilte van 10 dagen, even slikken, maar het is voor een goed doel: de kas moet gespekt worden.
Ik denk dat het een gigantische ervaring is, zo alles bij elkaar. Geniet er nog maar weer lekker van tussen het harde werken door. De sunrises en sunsets en privéstrandjes maken veel goed, denk ik en dan af en toe zwemmen en snorkelen (hopelijk dit keer wel), maar let op die grote 'vissen', hè.
Zoals ik je al zei kan Dudu helaas niet langer blijven en is er niet met de Sneekweek, maar ik begrijp dat we dan ander bezoek hebben :). (zie vorig verslagje van deze site) Ik ben benieuwd en vind het ook heel leuk.
Wat een leuk jaar zo bij elkaar.

Goedzo ga maar weer hard aan het werk. En maar zeuren dat het zwaar is. Toen ik erwas en daarna Bjorn heb je maar weinig gewerkt... Dus nu moet je wel.. Hihihi... Nee hoor vind het heel zielig dat je dat ranzige werk moet doen... Kun je zelf ook parelsmeenemen? Verdien je vast meer met verkopen :P
Is het ook zo dat je zodra je 20dagen op de boot hebt gezeten, dat je in NL straks nogsteeds stinkt (van de zee). Groetjes Ingrid.
